This course is for anyone that is involved with business relationship management. Classically, your title might be a business relationship manager (BRM).
However, that’s not always the case. You also might have other titles such as release manager, agile release engineer, project manager, program manager, director, vice president, executive director, service manager, business manager, operations manager, etc.
If your answer is YES to any of these questions, I’d consider signing up.
- Are you new to the BRM role?
- Have you recently assumed a new relationship-centered role in the organization?
- Is there role confusion in your organization around the BRM role?
- Are you a tactical BRM, pushing to be more strategic?
- Do you wish you had a 45-day plan to build your reputation as a BRM?
How is this course delivered?
The course is delivered over email.
Upon checkout, you’ll immediately receive a welcome email and be enrolled in the course. From there you’ll receive your first-course email, one day from your initial enrollment date. Then, you’ll receive one lesson email every 3 days for the 45-day duration of the course.
Why is defining the BRM role important?
The BRM role isn’t new. We’ve been building relationships in business, since the beginning of time.
What’s new is the BRM role being introduced into companies. Peers think you’re taking over their functions. Colleagues are unclear on how to engage you. Leaders aren’t sure how to manage you.
You can change this. I believe you have to.
Why are you credible? Who are you?
I’m a highly respected executive, BRM, and passionate evangelist for the BRM community. As a BRMP®, CBRM®, MBRM®, I am a change champion and fully embrace the role, capability, discipline, and philosophy of the BRM Institute to achieve powerful results.
I was the first globally credentialed, Master of Business Relationship Management (MBRM®) by the BRM Institute. I also hold certificates of experience in the following areas:
- Change Management and Transformational Change
- Organizational Transformation and Scalability
- Project Management and Portfolio Management
- Strategy and Strategic Resource Management
I am a 4x author, MIT Sloan and Yale School of Management speaker, and avid blogger with hundreds of articles on innovation, data science, artificial intelligence, and blockchain.
What will I learn in this course?
You’ll learn how to carve out the role of BRM in your organization and build a community around you to enable your success.
This is the same process, I followed to make quantified and game-changing impacts to the organizations I have enabled.
Makes sense. This must be expensive right?
No. It’s $30.
Why don’t you just charge $59.99 or $69.99 or $99.99?
I want this course to be accessible to anyone with an interest in improving their skills as a business relationship manager. You’re right I could have wrapped this into a book or a series of articles.
However, I choose to share content with leaders interested in tackling one of the toughest questions facing BRMs today: What exactly do you do as a BRM?
I hope you’ll find it valuable. If you do awesome, share it with your friends and colleagues!
How was this course developed?
This course isn’t going to be delivered on some slick-looking iPhone or Android app. It’s an email course. Every three days you’re going to get an email with a concept to reflect on and ideas on how to apply it.
This course is a culmination of my coaching notes, reminders, and shortcuts while actively leading in the BRM role.
Have you ever had a great idea or said something witty only to not be able to recall that sentence a week later? Me too. That’s why I use a daily journal. I capture all these little micro BRM ideas—and the big ones—to recall and share later.
I found that many of the professionals which I coach had experienced similar or near-identical challenges.
What outcomes can I expect?
Effective and straightforward ideas to elevate your status as a BRM. If you take the time to apply the techniques they will pay dividends.
Nothing is magic. No magic pill here. But these ideas don’t live in an academic factory. They were born from lessons in the wild. Where the wild things live. These ideas work. when applied. Why? I have applied them personally and coached 100’s of leaders in extremely difficult situations to see similar benefits.
Similarly, taking this course won’t catapult you from analyst to CEO. Be practical.
