From Across the Pond… Who’s Minding the (U.S.) Project Management Store?

This is a great article by Carl Pritchard, pulled from the PM Today UK October 2015 publication.

In this article Carl addresses what is working with project management across the pond.  He identifies areas that have clearly been more than troubled and then chats with respected leaders about what does work.  After all, the goal is to get your program back on track not reflect over failures of the past. The center theme, brings us back to humanism. The study of personal interaction for exceptional delivery.  Technology, automation, and innovation are important.  However, guess who fuels each of those? That’s right, the people in your organization. I address this topic head-on during my discussion with Carl.

For those that many not know I started in project management in 1999, and was PMP certified in 2001.  Carl was a leader in the late 1990’s, when I met him, at at time when PMI was just starting to gain traction.  He’s a staple of the fabric of what makes project management so great and a respected member of the global program and project management community.

“Nichol stresses that it is the people who will make it work, but we need a different attitude about those people.“
