Digital Winner – BEST Mobile Platform

ahCT Mobile was launched early in 2014, led by Peter Nichol, Director/Head of IT, Access Health CT, with the vision of applying digital technologies to achieve two major goals – produce market leading consumer services for Access Health CT, and provide a SaaS platform that can provide similar services to other States within rapid time frames, with low implementation risk and at affordable cost. In order to achieve these goals, Access Health CT formed a dedicated cross-functional team for the initiative and hired Amtex Systems as a vendor with experience in digital software product development utilizing Mobile and Cloud technologies to produce a state of the art platform.

Access Health CT is one of the leading State Based Health Insurance Exchanges (HIX) nationally, providing a highly successful implementation since State Based HIX went live on October 01, 2013.

ahCT Mobile is a visionary platform that pioneers the application of digital technologies to HIX, providing a rich Digital API that powers a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform for HIX. It digitizes the business model for HIX to provide a mobile platform and digital services to State Based Health Insurance Exchanges, Private Health Insurance Exchanges, State Health and Human Services organizations and Insurance Carriers.

The Best Platform award is selected from the pick of the crop apps that have moved from roll your own to accelerating by using platforms, platforms like yours. The winner of this category will be a platform or service that makes the App life cycle go easier than other alternatives, it will power features that would have taken years to bring to market and allow App Designers to run and jump where if they had to do it themselves they would just be imagining their solution.

2014 US Mobile & App Design Awards mission is to celebrate the courage of those who commission design and those who create it. design100 provides a collaborative platform of award programs, supported by the world’s most creative minds and organizations, to accelerate the transformation to a design-led marketplace. One that understands that tomorrow is the result of yesterday’s courage. design100 is a platform of award programs focused on promoting the value of design in local markets across three continents. Our unique difference is to recognize and celebrate the courage of both those who commission design and those who create it. One provides the oxygen for design to exist, the other breathes life into the body of work that eventuates. Our aim has always been to develop the conversation between the two. Professional development of practitioners has been well catered for by industry bodies. Our focus is to accelerate the development of those who commission design.
